Job description
We are currently working with a leading law firm who is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Project Finance Lawyer to join their team in Singapore. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 6 years of experience in project finance in Singapore or overseas. The Partners are also willing to consider candidates with a broader finance or banking background.The opportunity:
- Half of the firms worldwide turnover comes from energy and infrastructure projects
- The firm employs some of the leading partners in the region who will provide continuous guidance and mentoring
- The projects are primarily located in Asia Pacific but often go beyond
- The clients consist primarily of major developers/sponsors, host governments, and funders (commercial banks, export credit agencies and others)
As an Associate, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including:
- Project finance and project development work, focused on the energy & infrastructure sectors (renewable power/conventional power/gas-to-power), transport (roads, rail, airports), water treatment and other economic/social PPP/PFI style projects
- The candidate should have a solid finance experience and have experience of drafting and negotiating loan and ideally APLMA documentation
Qualifications:
- 3 to 6 years of experience in project finance law
- The Partners are also willing to consider candidates with a broader finance or banking background
- Singapore, AUZ, HK, UK or US called
- Strong understanding of the legal and commercial aspects of project finance transactions
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
- Bahasa or Mandarin skills would be useful
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
