Job description
Formative Search has joined forces with one of the leading multinational environmental companies to seek a Senior Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in electrical circuit breakers within power plants or stations to be based in Hong Kong. This position is responsible for ensuring the stable and safe operation of power systems in their Waste to Energy business line.Duties include:
- Providing technical advice to management and operations teams.
- Coordinating power systems maintenance with vendors and operations teams.
- Planning high voltage maintenance shutdowns and coordinating testing.
- Performing operation and maintenance tasks such as switchgear inspections, transformer checks, and generator monitoring.
- Fine-tuning settings post-commissioning.
- Updating and creating maintenance procedures.
- Responding to breakdowns/faults and coordinating restoration efforts.
Key Requirements:
- Engineering degree or equivalent trade experience.
- Demonstrated at least 5 years of experience in high voltage system maintenance, focusing on circuit breakers, protection relays, transformers, generators, and switchgear.
- Proficiency in writing switching programs and performing maintenance activities.
- Advanced knowledge of modern protection relays and fault finding.
- Strong understanding of industrial communication networks.
- Ability to analyze single line diagrams and electrical schematics.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Focus on safety and understanding of power station operations.
- Leadership skills to coach and lead a team
