Job description

Formative Search has partnered up with an established renewable energy developer with a strong brand. They are in need of a Business Development and Commercial Manager with a strong background in project origination, market entry strategies and a track record for revenue generation in renewable energy. Our client's key focus will be on expanding the Thailand market into large scale solar, and supporting the development of their business line to meet its targets.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Carrying out business development and sales activities based on the roadmap and strategy agreed with the management.
  • Manage, establish a pipeline of large scale renewable energy projects, both brown field and green field. Key focus is on Solar, but an aptitude for other technologies such as Wind, Hydro or Geothermal is a plus.
  • Innovative value added solutions such as Battery, Energy Efficiency to meet corporates and governments zero-carbon ambitions.
  • Support (commercial) implementation of large-scale projects in support of the technical project director.
  • Implement Corporate PPA frameworks to sell renewable energy certificates complemented by Rooftop Solar solutions.
  • Act as business owner to meet country P&L in area of Renewable Energy.
  • Represent the company’s “zero-carbon” strategy to the market.
  • Monitor regulatory changes in the market and define new business models to benefit from.
  • Implement Health and Safety procedures where needed.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Strong understanding of the renewables industry, power markets and development
  • Good understanding of project finance, capital structuring, financial modeling, and financial indicators
  • Good understanding of general transaction/bid management (managing internal resource/consultants/stakeholders), adhering to transaction timeline, and professional writing skills.
  • Strong understanding of power project development (land, grid interconnection, permitting)
  • Effective network with Contractors, Banks, Investors, Land owners and Governmental instructions (SEDA, TNB, ST, MESTECC…)
  • Excellent project management skills with proven experience working with multi-disciplinary teams and cultures
  • Excited about digitalisation, decarbonisation, energy efficiency and battery technology.
  • Consolidation of complex projects structure and approval
