Formative Search is working with a fast-growing company providing renewable energy solutions to C&I customers internationally. They are financially strong and are currently active in the region, with substantial assets already in operation, under construction and in late-stage development phases.
Our client is looking to hire a Country Operations Manager based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia to manage their biomass-to-energy plants. This person will be responsible for the project implementation, supervision and assistance of the project team.
What will you do?
During project implementation: Together with a Project Manager,
Formulate and implement a team development/operation staffing plan (approximately 35 people), communicate the corporate culture to team members, implement the philosophy of the BECIS, be responsible for training of necessary skills and implement the BECIS's talent development & training plan
Assist the bidding work in the early stage of the project and set up the project management team
Be fully responsible for the project construction management, formulate the project cost control plan, construction progress plan, quality target plan, fund use plan, and conduct monthly and annual assessment
Be responsible for the coordination of project construction organization, completion acceptance and payment settlement
Organize the review meetings of drawings, prepare the construction plan, carry out safety technical disclosure, and supervise the implementation
Be responsible for the safety, quality, progress, and cost control management in the whole process of project implementation
Report the project progress regularly and irregularly in the form of daily, weekly, and monthly reports
Be responsible for preparing the construction schedule and report the schedule for demanded materials
Review the completion data and handle the project handover procedures in a timely manner
During regular operations
Responsible for Profit and Loss of the Country
Serve as the key business partner to all internal teams as well as to the client and external business partners
Lead the plant operations and maintenance of the site
Lead sourcing, logistics, finance and admin functions, with the functional support and oversight from BECIS HQ
Managing regulatory compliance for the company, equipment and plant safety management as well and environmental regulatory compliance
What do you need?
Proven track record in building and leading a cross-functional teams to achieve challenging business goals
Previous equivalent experience with power plant/boiler operations
Experience in managing projects
Knowledge of maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment and instrumentation/automation
Demonstrable familiarity and track record of power plant/ boiler processes and system implementation, as well as with top-level health and safety guidelines and procedures
Previous experience with bioenergy is a plus
Hands-on experience in leading operations; min. 10 years.
Cross-functional management capability
Strong Leadership and fast-paced team player
Ability to represent BECIS in a professional manner to diverse internal/external audiences
Relevant mechanical/electrical university degree
Boiler operating license preferred
Candidates must be computer literate
High level of fluency in English, both written and spoken. Khmer knowledge is a plus
