Head of Investment – Renewable Energy | SingaporeFormative Search is proud to continue our partnership with one of Southeast Asia’s leading renewable energy developers. As they expand their footprint across the region, we are supporting them in hiring senior leadership to bring key functions in-house—starting with this pivotal role.
Our client already has an active pipeline of deals across solar, wind, and battery storage. They are now looking to internalise their investment and M&A capabilities to take control of deal execution and close strategic acquisitions more efficiently. At the same time, this role will lead capital-raising efforts through equity and debt to support continued growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the execution of active M&A and investment opportunities—many of which are already sourced and in progress.
- Take ownership of in-house investment processes, from due diligence and modelling to deal structuring and negotiation.
- Raise capital through equity, debt, and hybrid instruments to support ongoing and future transactions.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders including financial institutions, developers, and strategic partners.
- Evaluate target companies and assets against defined investment criteria and the group’s long-term strategy.
- Work closely with internal leadership to transition deals from origination through to execution and integration.
- Establish internal frameworks to track and manage deals across multiple markets in Southeast Asia.
What We're Looking For:
- 15+ years of experience in investment management, corporate finance, M&A, or strategy within the energy or infrastructure space.
- Strong execution experience—able to lead transactions through all stages with minimal external dependency.
- Deep understanding of project finance, capital structuring, and valuation.
- Proven ability to raise capital and maintain strong relationships with financiers and investors.
- Experience working across Southeast Asia with strong cross-cultural awareness.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
