A leading global energy company with a strong footprint across LNG and power markets has partnered with Formative to appoint a senior leader to drive its growth and commercial strategy in India.

This role will play a critical part in expanding the company’s LNG presence in one of the fastest-growing energy markets globally, working at the intersection of supply, infrastructure, and downstream demand.

The Role
You will be responsible for leading the company’s LNG strategy and operations in India, with a focus on market development, commercial execution, and building long-term partnerships across the gas value chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the overall LNG strategy and market positioning in India
• Originate and execute LNG supply, offtake, and infrastructure opportunities
• Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders including utilities, industrial players, and government entities
• Oversee commercial negotiations, including long-term contracts and structured arrangements
• Collaborate with global teams across trading, shipping, and portfolio management
• Drive business growth through new market entry strategies and partnership development
• Provide leadership across local operations, ensuring alignment with broader regional objectives

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline
• 15-20+ years of experience within LNG, gas, or broader energy markets
• Strong understanding of LNG value chains, including supply, regasification, and downstream markets
• Proven track record in originating and executing commercial energy transactions
• Deep network across India’s gas ecosystem, including buyers, infrastructure players, and regulators
• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing P&L or business units
• Leadership experience with the ability to operate in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment
