Especially now as the world moves towards zero emissions, China is a key country of their growth plans. They have engaged us on an exclusive search for a Managing Director to build up their distributed energy platform, based from Shanghai or Beijing.
What are the main responsibilities for the Managing Director?
Build up the platform and business across China, by setting up the necessary processes, structures, and systems, whilst also supporting the growth and hiring of the team.
Oversee the project development and delivery activities for the company's pipeline of Chinese renewable energy projects, and act with ultimate responsibility.
Suport the Sales, BD, and Commercial efforts of sales in the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) business, and develop accurate segmentation and targeting of the market.
Develop a network to ensure the company is being recommended and introduced to strategic opportunities, and establish long-term & trustful relationships with key stakeholders.
Policy advocacy and representation in the concerned regulatory and government bodies in China, that are necessary to build a sustainable renewables business.
Structure and industrialize the internal and external processes around identifying and serving customers’ needs to match the company’s corporate strategy, and wider vision.
Develop strategic alliances and collaborative relationships with channel partners, government and provincial department, developers, contractors, equipment suppliers, technical advisors.
What will a successful Managing Director look like?
15+ years of overall experience in either the Industrial, Power, or Energy markets.
Working knowledge of infrastructure and energy development and delivery in China.
Capability to coordinate with senior commercial and technical heads of the business.
Proven ability to succeed in a complex stakeholder environment, with strong relationship building and influencing skills, with the ability to drive change.
Highest level of commercial acumen and knows how to work in an international setting.
Manage high level communcations up to and reporting to the board and the C-Suite.
Proven track record of building, scaling, and growing business units within global brands.
Excellent communication skills coupled with a dynamic approach to venture building.
Success-oriented and comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Experience in managing, coaching and building high quality teams across the globe.
