OPERATIONS MANAGER

Based in Taipei, Taiwan

Formative Search have partnered with Asia’s largest asset investment manager within the APAC region. They have successfully invested in and divested a number of renewable energy IPP in the region and continue going strong developing the business across the region. The firm has a large pipeline of generation assets, which will see them become one of the biggest platforms in the market. The team in Taipei is growing and key positions have become available in both Technical and Commercial Management position.

We are recruiting for an Operations Manager, who will be expected to lead the permitting process of all projects, including drafting of all permitting applications, possessing high level of understanding of relevant regulations, main point of contact for all government departments responsible for issuing project related permits and leading coordination of all tender projects.

Roles & Responsibilities :

  • Manages and coordinate all areas of the Company’s commercial activities including identifying business opportunities and strategic partnerships, applying and securing all applicable permits for renewable projects in Taiwan and managing contractual obligations of all projects owned by the Company

  • Lead the preparation and management of all requisite documents required for permits approval

  • Compiling, coordinating and reviewing responses from reviewers in relations to permits approval, ensuring the final response is compelling, consistent, compliant and clear, and that the submission reads with a “common voice”

  • Assist in managing local government, community relationships and relevant regulatory board

  • Represent the Company in meetings with regulators, landowner groups and project stakeholders

  • Manage consultants and other temporary contractors

  • Monitor regulatory programs and trends and advise the development team as to likely future constraints and opportunities

  • Performs other duties as requested by the Company

  • Completes all lawful directions in a timely manner

  • Conduct one-self in a professional manner that reflects the core values of the Company

Requirements :

  • 5 years of experience in the energy industry, preferably within the technical perspective. Power plant experience is a plus, but any renewable energy background will be considered.

  • Minimum a bachelor degree in Engineering (electrical preferred).

  • Strong interpersonal leadership skills. High energy levels and a team motivator.

  • Self-driven and with ability to operate under high level guidance only.

  • Assertive and persuasive personality. Strong negotiator. Excellent in stakeholder management and in communicating across all levels.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyse, identify and resolve problems.

  • Track record of leading and coordinating several construction sites simultaneously.
