The Country Head will establish and scale the Company’s renewable energy development platform in the Philippines, with a focus on utility-scale solar and battery energy storage (BESS). Reporting to the Board, the role has full responsibility for in-country strategy, origination, project development, stakeholder engagement, and operational performance.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Build and lead the Philippines development and operations team; implement governance and performance frameworks.
  • Originate, evaluate, and advance utility-scale solar and BESS projects.
  • Oversee land acquisition, grid and SIS processes, permitting, and NTP milestones.
  • Lead offtake strategy and negotiations, including corporate PPAs and government procurement.
  • Act as the Company’s senior in-country representative with regulators, government agencies, utilities, LGUs, landowners, EPCs, and partners.
  • Support EPC contracting, supplier negotiations, and development services agreements.
  • Participate in investment committee processes and project financing activities; support capital raising or divestment processes.
  • Oversee transition from development through construction and commissioning.
  • Define and execute the operational strategy for solar and BESS assets, ensuring strong HSE, ESG, QA/QC, and budget control.
  • Provide regular reporting to the Board, Sponsor, and investors, ensuring compliance with governance and AB&C policies.
  • Deliver agreed KPIs covering pipeline growth, development milestones, regulatory progress, team build-out, and value creation.

Key Requirements

  • Senior leadership experience in renewable energy development, ideally solar and/or BESS.
  • Proven track record delivering utility-scale projects in the Philippines.
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine power market regulations, permitting, grid interconnection, and offtake structures.
  • Experience working with investors, lenders, and investment committees.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead local teams and platforms.
  • Strong commercial, negotiation, and execution capability.
  • High integrity, strong governance mindset, and credible senior stakeholder presence.
