The company develops, builds, and operates hybrid, utility-scale renewable energy projects with a focus on solar, wind, and storage. Backed by experienced leadership and strong investors, the business is scaling quickly across the region.
Role Purpose
The Financial Controller will lead the financial control, reporting, and compliance functions across the business. This role is critical to ensuring financial integrity, driving operational efficiency, and supporting project teams with timely and accurate insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, delivering accurate financial statements
- Oversee statutory reporting, taxation, audits, and regulatory compliance
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, financial policies, and procedures
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across development, construction, and operations
- Support project financing activities, monitoring capex spend, funding drawdowns, and contract accounting (e.g. PPAs, EPC / O&M contracts)
- Drive cash flow planning, treasury management, and working capital optimisation
- Act as primary point of contact for external auditors, tax authorities, banks, and consultants
- Contribute to financial modelling, due diligence, and transaction support (M&A, joint ventures, project sales)
- Enhance financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and scalability
Requirements / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; professional qualification (CA / CPA / ACCA) preferred
- 7-10+ years of experience in financial control, ideally in energy, infrastructure, or capital-intensive industries
- Strong understanding of project finance structures, PPAs, EPC / O&M contracts, and large-scale infrastructure project accounting
- Knowledge of IFRS and relevant local GAAP and tax frameworks
- Track record of managing audits, financial reporting, and compliance processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to partner with development and operations teams
- Leadership experience managing finance teams
- Familiarity with ERP / financial systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar)
