Our client is a leading global player in low-carbon energy and services, with a strong and growing platform in Southeast Asia. The business develops, owns, and operates district cooling systems, industrial utilities-as-a-service, and on-site/off-grid energy solutions across multiple countries in the region.
 
They are seeking a Regional Head of Business Development (Southeast Asia), based in Malaysia or Singapore, to lead growth across district cooling, industrial utilities, and decentralized energy solutions. This role sits on the regional leadership team and is responsible for defining go-to-market strategy, originating and closing large-scale projects, building strategic partnerships, and scaling the regional development platform, with a mandate to deliver significant low-carbon infrastructure growth annually.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute a regional go-to-market and business development strategy
  • Originate, structure, and close complex energy and infrastructure projects
  • Build and manage a strong commercial pipeline across priority countries
  • Lead bids, partnerships, and commercial negotiations through financial close
  • Develop strategic relationships with customers, governments, financiers, and partners
  • Own regional BD targets, pipeline performance, and reporting
  • Build and lead high-performing regional and local teams
  • Ensure strong governance, HSE, and customer-centric execution

 
Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or related field; MBA preferred
  • 15+ years’ experience in senior regional BD or leadership roles
  • Strong background in energy, utilities, infrastructure, or project-based businesses
  • Proven experience with project origination, structuring, and negotiations
  • Solid commercial, financial, and contractual acumen
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and C-suite engagement skills
  • Entrepreneurial, results-driven, with a strong sustainability mindset
