LEGAL COUNSEL, DIGITAL INFRASTRUCTURE, Singapore

THE COMPANY

A high-growth, institutionally-backed data centre platform headquartered in Singapore, developing hyperscale facilities across the APAC region. Multiple projects at various stages of development and operation across the region.

THE ROLE

Legal Counsel, reporting directly to the General Counsel. This is the company’s first dedicated legal hire and a broad, hands-on position covering commercial, regulatory, corporate and transactional matters across a growing multi-market portfolio.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts across the business: colocation agreements, EPC and construction contracts, supply arrangements, NDAs, MOUs and JV documentation
  • Supporting data centre development legal matters: site acquisition, ground leases, substation/utility documents, power purchase agreements and grid procurement
  • Advising on data centre regulatory and licensing requirements across APAC markets
  • Data privacy compliance across applicable APAC jurisdictions (PDPA and equivalent)
  • Assisting with corporate governance, board documentation and investor reporting
  • Contributing to financing processes, JV arrangements and M&A as the business grows
  • Instructing and coordinating local counsel across multiple jurisdictions

REQUIREMENTS

Essential:

  • 3-6 years PQE
  • Qualified in a common law jurisdiction: Singapore, Australia or England & Wales strongly preferred
  • Solid commercial contracts background with exposure to infrastructure, energy, real estate or technology
  • Comfortable operating across multi-jurisdictional matters
  • Commercial and pragmatic, able to give clear, actionable advice at pace
  • Singapore-based

Advantageous:

  • Prior exposure to data centres, digital infrastructure, power/renewables or related sectors
  • In-house experience, or a strong desire to make the move in-house
  • Familiarity with SEA regulatory environments
  • Experience on JV, development or construction matters
  • Interest in ESG, energy transition and sustainability

This is a genuinely interesting role for a lawyer looking to move into one of the most active sectors in APAC, with direct access to a highly experienced Genera Counsel and exposure to a wide range of complex, meaningful work from day one.
