We are working with a top-tier international law firm to recruit an exceptional Associate for their highly regarded Energy, Projects & Infrastructure practice in Singapore. This is a rare opportunity to join a market-leading team and work on some of the region’s most significant energy and infrastructure transactions.
Our client is seeking an ambitious lawyer with strong technical skills to work alongside renowned partners on sophisticated cross-border matters involving energy projects, LNG transactions, renewable energy developments, and major infrastructure initiatives across Southeast Asia and beyond.
This role has arisen due to continued practice growth and increasing deal flow. Given the quality of the opportunity and our client’s reputation in the market, we anticipate significant interest and encourage early applications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Advising international and regional clients on energy and infrastructure projects, including project development, construction, and financing
- Drafting and negotiating commercial agreements including LNG sale and purchase agreements, PPAs, VPPAs, EPC contracts, O&M agreements, and other project documentation
- Conducting legal due diligence on energy and infrastructure transactions, including M&A in the energy sector
- Advising on upstream and downstream oil and gas matters, with particular focus on LNG and gas infrastructure
- Supporting clients on renewable energy projects including solar, wind, and energy transition initiatives
- Assisting with project finance transactions for energy and infrastructure developments
- Managing workstreams on complex, multi-jurisdictional transactions
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
CANDIDATE PROFILE
We are seeking candidates with:
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified lawyer in a common law jurisdiction (England & Wales, Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, or similar)
- NQ to 4 years’ post-qualification experience (UK scale)
- Strong academic credentials
- Demonstrable experience in energy, projects, and/or infrastructure law
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Strong client management and communication skills
- Commitment to delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
Highly Desirable:
- Experience with LNG and gas transactions (including SPAs, Master SPAs, terminal use agreements, regasification agreements)
- Knowledge of upstream and downstream oil and gas matters
- Exposure to renewable energy and energy transition projects
- Experience advising on project development and construction contracts
- Familiarity with project finance structures
- Regional experience in Southeast Asia or emerging markets
- Additional language skills (Mandarin, Bahasa Indonesia, or other Asian languages)
- Experience working with multinational energy companies, state-owned enterprises, or financial institutions
