A leading global investment platform with a significant and growing presence across energy and infrastructure is seeking a Legal Counsel to support its investment activities across Southeast Asia.

The platform manages a diversified portfolio spanning renewable energy, power, and broader real assets, with a strong pipeline of investments across key markets in Asia.

The Role
This role will sit within the regional legal team, supporting all legal aspects of the investment lifecycle across Southeast Asia. You will work closely with investment professionals on transactions and provide ongoing legal support across portfolio assets in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Support legal execution of M&A transactions, joint ventures, and asset disposals, including due diligence, structuring, and documentation
• Provide coverage across key Southeast Asian markets, including the Philippines, Vietnam, and Malaysia
• Advise on capital structuring and financing-related matters
• Support regulatory and compliance requirements associated with transactions
• Manage external counsel, including reviewing advice and coordinating across multiple jurisdictions
• Provide ongoing legal support to portfolio companies, including commercial contracts, governance, and risk matters
• Partner closely with internal stakeholders across investment, tax, finance, and compliance functions

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer in Singapore or another common law jurisdiction
• ~5-8+ years’ post-qualification experience within a top-tier law firm (M&A, project finance, or capital markets focus)
• Prior in-house experience within an investment platform or asset manager is advantageous but not essential
• Exposure to Southeast Asia and/or energy, infrastructure, or real assets sectors preferred
• Strong commercial judgement with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment
• Confident communicator with the ability to engage senior stakeholders across functions.
