Job description

Our client is one of the world’s biggest maritime organizations who has an ambitious vision to expand its influence in Sustainability. An experienced Business Development Manager is required to implement new business initiatives for large accounts, optimize sales performance, and drive business growth in Japan. The candidate will be working closely with the Product Team, reporting to the Head of APAC. The role is in Japan.

Responsibilities:

• Identify market opportunities and help develop and implement business development plans

• Set business objectives and be responsible for the implementation and attainment of the agreed plan

• Development of commercial business cases supporting growth initiatives, including end-to-end strategies for sales, promotional activity, and financial analysis and reporting

• Act as first point of contact for new and existing clients

• Exploring new growth opportunities within organizations and individuals

• Achieving customer satisfaction by effectively transitioning customers between sales, client management, and issue resolution departments

• Gather feedback from prospective consumers about the product's value and benefits

• Develop, implement and maintain customer relationship strategy and plan

• Communicate about the company’s business strategy to customers and other key stakeholders

• Monitor changes to key personnel in customer organizations to take appropriate ac tion

• Communicate and maintain strong relationships with Operations Managers to ensure seamless transition of a customer’s solution proposition to operational execution

Skills and Experience:

• At least 5 years of relevant work experience in generating new business and achieving revenue growth

• Prior experience in the Maritime Industry and/or software sales are highly advantageous

• Ability to establish effective relationships with new people

• Capable of negotiating, influencing and interacting across all levels of the organization

• Proficiency in spoken and written English and Japanese
