Job description

Formative Search is supporting a global manufacturer of solar panels and a provider of solar energy solutions by identifying top talents for their Business Development Manager position to drive their business forward in South Korea.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and acquisition of large-scale solar projects in Korea.
  • Proactively seek out new opportunities and develop effective strategies for project development and execution.
  • Evaluate project opportunities for commercial viability and perform opportunity qualification and analysis.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, budget, execution strategies, goals, and deliverables.
  • Manage energy business projects and partners through all stages of development.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of successful projects and cultivate relationships with potential partners and other market participants.
  • Prepare progress reports, proposals, and presentations, and participate in relevant events to promote business interests and identify new opportunities.
  • Negotiate commercial transactions and project acquisitions as necessary and oversee the completion of legal documents with project stakeholders and legal teams.

 

Key Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in solar project development in Korea, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong decision-making skills to assess project commercial and regulatory viability.
  • Fluency in Korean and English.
  • Excellent problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills, with proficiency in relevant software.
  • Strong network with local developers, land owners, government and regulatory bodies.
