Formative Search is working with one of the biggest global Energy providers who specializes in providing complex C&I solar and Energy solutions.

Our client is currently looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team based in Australia, Melbourne.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide sales proposals and tender interviews that meet the needs and expectations of customers
  • Stimulate sales growth by creating relationships with new and maintaining relationships with existing customers and generate leads via various avenues
  • Obtain, analyze, and present information on existing markets in the Solar and Energy Industry and use these facts to identify appropriate disciplines and sectors to target
  • Strategize and leverage the competition in the market by conducting competitor analysis
  • Ensure site suitability, due diligence, and site evaluation are conducted through site visits
  • Answer questions concerning the project financing process from the lender and independent engineer with support from the finance team
  • Develop a robust business plan, taking into account flexible commercial schemes and various revenue channels, incorporating all variable assumptions
  • Assess business plan accuracy and alignment with Financial Modeler
  • Manage the company’s business development activities in conjunction with Solar JV's management and relevant stakeholder groups
  • Report to the Management on pipeline and directions monthly
  • Lead PPA and EPC contract negotiations
  • Establish a roadmap and propose marketing events aimed at generating leads to provide customers with a sense of confidence in the company’s products
  • Encourage customers to explore solar solutions and value-add services such as EV, IFM, DCS, CHW, as part of an integrated approach
  • Make sure commercial and contract risks are identified and managed throughout the project life cycle
  • Assist engineering with the preparation of Bills of Quantities and Materials
  • Coordinate with the project teams on commercial decisions and with government agencies regarding licensing and permits for the project

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 3-5 yearsexperience in technical sales with track record of success, Solar is a plus
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; Ability to speak other regional languages will be considered an advantage
  • Familiarity with PPA contract requirements and Singapore regulations
  • Proficient in Performance Modelling Software, Salesforce and MS Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Passionate about clean technology
