Job description
We are currently working with a US headquartered MNC in the healthcare industry with strong presence in Asia Pacific and Latin America. With fast growth and upcoming launches of new technology-based services involving significant processing of personal data they are now looking for a privacy counsel to join their collegiate and valued legal team.
This role would encompass the full scope of a traditional data privacy role. The successful candidate would be able to work with the R&D as well as the engineering team to design privacy solutions for new products. You would also work with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with various regulations and best practices.
- Serve as a point of contact for the APAC and Latin America region for privacy and data protection related enquiries and escalations, both internal and external (i.e. business stakeholders and client queries);
- Assist with drafting, implementing and monitoring policies, procedures and processes related to Company's privacy practices and program;
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and other data protection laws and regulations;
- Support privacy due diligence and data protection related matters as part of M&A transactions
You should possess at least 3 PQE (commonwealth qualified) and be already in an in-house role handling data privacy matters as part of your portfolio. You will be an outstanding professional with excellent communication skills, very good business and commercial understanding. You will be a very good problem solver that can set priorities and make high quality judgements. You will need a hands-on approach and also maintain the strategic overview.
