Head of Projects
Job Responsibilities:
- Take complete responsibility for the successful completion of projects.
- Manage a team of project management, development, and construction professionals in the country, offering guidance, solving issues, and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Interact with internal stakeholders and teams, escalating problems to management when needed to implement effective solutions.
- Constantly work to improve team capabilities in relation to project management, official processes, and procedures.
- Implement and establish processes in projects to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Validate the internal process for onboarding projects into development and bringing them to a ready-to-build state, then handing them off to the Asset Management team.
- Manage projects to ensure excellence in project delivery - reviews, forecasting, and resource management.
- Evaluate the project portfolio in the country and present status and KPI’s to the Leadership team.
- Prepare project-specific elements of internal approval papers for presentation to Board/Investment committee during development and construction stages of projects.
- Assist in the preparation of energy tenders, bids, and pre-qualification questionnaires, providing
- Seek out new RE investments from local developers using network/relationship.
- Communicate with financial institutions for disbursement of funds.
- Analyze and provide feedback on term sheets and contracts, such as for development services, equipment supply, PPAs, leases, EPC contracts, and O&M agreements.
Requirements:
- 15+ years of hands-on professional experience managing multiple energy projects, ideally in solar, onshore wind, or other renewables.
- Degree in Engineering, Commerce, Science, Project Management, Business Administration, or similar technical/commercial training.
- Demonstrated success heading large teams in a professional project management setting.
- Established network with local developers and EPC providers
- Project management skills, including planning, WHSE compliance, risk/issue management, and driving outcomes under tight timeframes and external pressures.
- Manage technical/regulatory discussions and inputs from internal support functions.
