Job description
Formative Search collaborated with a leading renewable energy developer in Pan Asia on hiring an electrical engineer for their wind, solar and BESS projects in Taiwan.
Job Responsibilities:
Design electrical and power system, develop procurement specification for electrical components and manage permitting to support the development and construction teams in solar, wind, and energy storage projects.
Conduct feasibility studies of renewable energy installation projects based on site and building constraints.
Manage the site related electrical studies, work with internal and external stakeholders to develop technical proposal and support presentations at public meetings.
Review draft reports while analysing projects and mitigating technical risks.
Collect system data, review QA/QC, testing, and commissioning protocols and oversee EPC contractors during these phases.
Support the Construction team to ensure construction and interconnection protocols have been met and the timely delivery of optimized BOS and cost for projects.
Assist with establishing operation and maintenance protocols and support the Asset Management team when needed.
Support acquisitions of operating assets with technical reviews, site visits, technical advice and optimizing concept design across Asia
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 5 years of work experience in renewable or power projects.
Familiar with optimizing electrical designs in AutoCAD, PVSyst, ETAP or similar design platforms
Strong problem-solving skills and able to produce initial designs in a high-paced construction environment.
Proficient in Mandarin and English, other Asian languages highly valued but not essential
Able and willing to travel on occasion across Taiwan.
