Job description

Formative Search is working with an impact investment firm specializing in sustainable energy infrastructure. This growing firm is concentrated on structuring financing facilities in the development of sustainable infrastructure channels: energy, water, landscapes and smart cities.  

 

The Executive will report to the Regional ESG Manager in Asia. The role will be based in Singapore with frequent requirements to travel to various project sites. All tasks pertaining to managed funds investments across the portfolio of managed funds across the Asia Region will be performed by the ESG Executive in support of the Asia Regional ESG Manager, as well as the wider ESG team. 

 

Responsibilities:

Investment Support 

  • E&S due diligence in line with the company’s processes

  • Support the investment process by preparing investment papers, attending investment committee meetings, and carrying out other tasks as needed

  • Tasks relating to environmental and social impact assessments that comply with IFC guidelines

  • Supporting the management process by attending meetings, liaising with project partners, and providing project-related advice

  • Assist with project management and governance activities, such as preparing documents where required; participate in project management meetings; and attend management committee meetings

  • Develop and implement community development programs tailored to investments 

ESG and Strategy 

  • Support with the development, revision, and update of key governance documents and supporting procedures and processes 

  • Establish tools and templates for the team's use 

Impact Analysis and Reporting 

  • Assist with the preparation of all quarterly and annual investor reports pertaining to ESG performance and impact 

Thought Leadership 

  • Conduct research and prepare papers on current, cross-cutting or emerging themes that are relevant to the business

Qualifications and Experience 

  • Masters’ degree in an ESG-relevant discipline

  • 8+ years’ experience in ESG management

  • Expertise in renewables, water, wastewater and/or waste infrastructure

  • An excellent understanding of environmental and social issues related to the business

  • Ability to manage priorities and deliver challenging deadlines while performing multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Developing and improving effective internal working relationships at all levels
