We have a unique and exclusive opportunity with a long-standing partner of ours, who is fast becoming a key player in the APAC Low-Carbon landscape. This opportunity is for their next General Manager to be based in Singapore, helping to ensure our client becomes a leader in providing Low-Carbon solutions across the SE Asia region.What will the General Manager of Low-Carbon do?
- Assess the potential investment opportunities of gas fired power projects, LNG-to-Power projects, renewable projects and the feasibility of ammonia/hydrogen co-fired projects in Asia.
- Establish the business plan and strategy in Asia to pursue these opportunities, and originate new projects including these areas but not limited to just them.
- Supervise the assessment and report the outcome of the assessment to the group periodically.
- Develop and establish project schemes in compliance with investment policies and business strategies of the group.
- Identify potential risks, implement appropriate risk mitigation measures, and negotiate with potential stakeholders such as investors, partners, power purchasers, EPC contractors, vendors, advisors, lenders, and off takers.
- Organize due diligence process for potential investment opportunities by identifying the likely risks, and coordinate with important decision makers in counterpart organization.
- Come with, build, and maintain strong working relationships with the relevant regional government authorities, investment partners, lenders, and policy agencies or bodies in the region.
- Interact with the evolving players who are involved in natural gas and power markets, renewable energy, ammonia and hydrogen, in order to get information on the development of this space.
- A strong techno-commercial leader with at least 15 years of relevant professional experience in the global gas and power industry.
- Has at least 10 years of commercial management and independent business development experience, and great working experience in leading project development across Asia.
- Comes with an undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering or business administration;
- A minimum of 10 years of executive management experience as a director or equivalent in supervising positions for Independent Power Producers.
- Ability to analyze surrounding circumstances, make decisions on taking actions in accordance with his/her position, and effectively implement necessary actions.
- Comprehensive and practical knowledge, skills and experiences in such an extensive fields of business administration as legal, technical, commercial, financial, accounting and tax.
- Strong leadership, work ethic and desire for continuous improvement to lead teams through behavioral expression of his/her firm commitment toward achieving goals.
- Strong verbal, listening and writing skills to work effectively with key stakeholders (internal/external) based on mutual respects and understanding;
- Strong interpersonal skills in communication and negotiation as well as personnel network in Asian power industries and surrounding areas.
- Ability to understand, analyze, and utilize complex contractual issues with technical, financial, accounting, and legal expertise;
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplined team to utilize its rich diversity and lead the team effectively toward achieving its goals. Extensive management experiences in multi-cultural working environment.
