Job description

Senior Business Developer APAC
Based in Singapore

What will you do?

  •  Based in Singapore to support the company’s development in the APAC region
  • Identify acquisition and joint development opportunities, evaluate them to determine if they should be pursued
  • Undertake and lead due diligences (with advisors) to assess development status and technical/ financial viability (constructability, land rights access; grid connection, permitting, costs, economics)
  • Coordinate / lead negotiation of transactions (joint development agreements, shareholders agreement, …)
  • Build simple and detailed financial models for negotiation and investment decision
  • Prepare Investment Memorandum and presentation materials to support decision making by the APAC and Paris management teams
  • Supervise / coordinate co-development of projects with relevant specialists teams (secure land, obtain permits, conduct required studies, secure grid connection, manage community and stakeholder’s relations, detailed engineering, procurement process)
  • Coordinate / lead negotiation of key project contracts (land agreement, grid connection agreement, Power Purchase Agreement, …) and management of related third parties
  • Understanding and surveillance of Regulatory and Legal frameworks for renewable energy projects (planning, permitting and environmental policy)
  • Manage company’s reputation and relationships with stakeholders across the region
  • Frequent travels required (min 2 weeks a month)

Profile and requirements

  • Relevant Degree (can be finance or engineering) qualified with a minimum of 7 years work experience in related field
  • Transactional experience in the energy / renewable space is essential
  • Ability to work on his/her own initiative, take commercial decisions, lead processes
  • Advanced financial modelling skills
  • Contracts negotiations experience
  • Technical knowledge of renewable energy plants (design, yield assessment, grid connection, construction/procurement) is important
  • Highly organised approach to work and details oriented
  • Excellent English, written and oral communications skills and should be comfortable presenting to management at all levels
  • Capable of managing internal and external resources, taking a lead role at meetings, setting priorities and recording actions
  • Passion for the renewable energy industry
  • Asian language and/or French a plus
