They are committed in the energy transition and are now looking to built up their ships to transport hydrogen, thus the search for a highly experienced shipping professional to spearhead the department of Vessel Construction & Technical shipping as part of their ambition to commercialise hydrogen as a fuel source.

As a leader and technical expert for ships (tankers), the pre-requisites of this position is possessing strong technical knowledge and solid understanding of the movement of cryogenic fluids (e.g. LNG, ammonia), have a good knowledge in engine propulsion, and strong stakeholder management & engagement across internal and external stakeholders to build relationships with ship yards, engineering firms, vessel design to develop these hydrogen tankers/vessels.

In this role, you would play a significant role to get an approved design for large scale bulk carriers (significant bigger in size of what is in the market now to transport hydrogen at a commercial scale), collaborate with the engineering propulsion team and in house team to realise its hydrogen ambition. In addition, you are to understand and work internally the optimal form to transport the hydrogen molecules (whether solid state/liquid state/gaseous-liquid state) and the economics of vessel transportation for supply chain optimization and P&L maximization.

To realise the hydrogen dream and commercialisation, you are to problem solve, connect the dots and work with a team to develop green fuels bunkering/STS transfers to propel these hydrogen carriers.

To commercialise the hydrogen dream, you are a shipping veteran upwards of 15-20 years of experience with good understanding and knowledge of shipping cryogenic fluids, experience working with shipyards, and ideally possessing the knowledge in engine propulsion for this position.

A natural leader and team player, you can influence and cultivate good relationships with internal and external stakeholders to commercialize the hydrogen ambition. This role will be based in Australia ideally, with the final location to be discussed.  They are open to relocate the right candidates for this position.
