Senior Carbon-offset Originator, Nature-Based Solutions (Asia Pacific/South-east Asia)
Formative Search is privileged to be partnering with an Established Renewable Energy Player along the mid-upstream value chain. Having a global presence including (but not limited to) Europe and US, the ambitious management is seeking to expand their footprint into Asia Pacific and thus is seeking for a Senior Carbon-offset Originator, Nature-Based Solutions to cover the origination within Asia Pacific/South-east Asia market.
As a key stakeholder in shaping global decarbonization, the organization originates, finances, and develops carbon reduction projects across the globe to originate carbon credits for marketing and trading of carbon credits and allowing counterparties to play an exciting role in shaping the voluntary carbon market.
As the Senior Carbon-offset Originator for Nature-Based Solutions, your role would be focused on originating carbon-offset projects and developing these Nature Based Solutions (NBS) and Energy projects recognised under the voluntary carbon standards, focused into the Asia Pacific market.
Playing a lead role in the origination of projects, the development of it and establishing strategic partnerships with reliable implementation partners, your responsibilities would also include performing due diligence on these projects to ensure of its existence, negotiation and delivery of the signed projects being developed/originated with various implementation partners.
As the leader of the Asia Pacific business, you will be given the mandate to spearhead and build up a team, collaborate with the other Senior leaders (across different regions), Commercial & Technical managers and Legal professionals to ensure the developmental risk of these projects are adequately mitigated and ensure the fruition of these NBS carbon-offset projects.
With clear set goals and KPIs of this position to deliver a targeted P&L, this position offers an attractive bonus which commensurate to performance (i.e. percentage of P&L).
Requirements
You have at least 5-8 years of experience in carbon development & origination and experience handling carbon projects at different stages of development and delivery in emerging markets.
Knowledgeable about the voluntary carbon standards and carbon development process for NBS and energy projects, you possess a strong network in carbon project development & origination, able to source projects, work with local partners to problem solve, and be the rainmaker of new carbon-offset projects, focused in the APAC region. As this role has some flexibility, it could be based in your country of origination within Asia Pacific.
