Job description

Formative Search has begun working closely with one of the world’s largest Oil and Gas companies, whom are spending billions to become a truly diversified energy giant, promoting the use of Renewable Energy.

In Asia, where the focus of this energy transition is taking place, they are looking for a O&M Asset Manager to support the fast growth and build up their Renewable Energy business from its Headquarters in the vibrant hub of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • P&L responsibility for a portfolio of operating assets (wind, solar, and etc projects).

  • Prepare annual budgets and track variance to budget.

  • Prepare reoccurring reports and project performance for internal and external parties.

  • Collaborate with energy marketing to identify revenue increasing and risk mitigation opportunities.

  • Ensure strict compliance with all project governing documents including Power Purchase Agreements, O&M Agreements, Interconnection Agreements, land leases, Financing Agreements, and LLC Agreements.

  • Manage and resolve legal, contractual, regulatory, and commercial issues as they arise with support of the team

  • Manage day-to-day stakeholder relationship management with local and state authorities, financing and investors partners, regulatory agencies, landowners, and other entities.

  • Continually seek out opportunities to improve financial and operational performance of assets

  • Negotiate contracts to increase revenue, lower operating costs, and increase operational efficiencies.

  • Oversee all vendor relationships included the O&M provider.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Economics is required

  • Minimum of 5 – 7 years’ experience in wind or solar energy operations.

  • Prior operational experience at thermal, coal, hydro, or nuclear plant a plus.

  • Knowledge of the energy and renewable energy market, to stay current with changing technologies, regulations, and trends influencing the adoption of renewable energy.

  • Experience with planning and implementing routine O&M plans as well as minor and major corrective work.

  • Experience with environmental and governmental compliance.

  • Strong understanding of project finance, legal contracts, accounting, and contract/warranty negotiations.

  • Experience creating and performing simple financial modelling for O&M related matters
