Job description

Responsibilities:
 
  • You'll lead a team of professionals across project development, community engagement, project management, engineering, supply chain, and construction. Your accountability spans project development and construction of floating solar projects, ensuring time, budget, quality, and WHSE standards.
 
  • Actively manage external stakeholders while fostering collaboration and managing internal teams. This includes reporting project status and KPIs to the steering committee, board members, and the Leadership team.
 
  • Proactively develop and implement solutions to address issues, validate and improve internal processes and capabilities, and enhance the project team's capabilities.
 
  • Take charge of commercial governance, which involves project reviews, forecasting, resource allocation, priority setting, conflict resolution, and the selection and management of technical advisors, contractors, and suppliers.
 
  • Ensure compliance with service, supply, and construction contract schedules, and review various contracts such as development services agreements, equipment supply contracts, power purchase agreements (PPAs), leases, EPC contracts, and O&M agreements.
 
  • Uphold project licenses, fulfill active contracts, and engage in activities like monitoring and compliance reporting.
 
  • Prepare project-specific components of internal approval documents and interact with financial institutions and banks for project financing, including meeting disbursement conditions during project execution.
 
  • Maintain a network of professional relationships and resources, including engagement with local government stakeholders, regulatory agencies, ministries, industry groups, and industry participants.
 
Qualifications:
 
  • Have a degree or post-graduate qualifications in Engineering, Commerce, Science, Project Management, Business Administration, or similar technical or commercial fields. Certification as a Project Management professional is a plus.
 
  • With over 15 years of hands-on professional experience, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple projects. This experience should be primarily focused on energy project development, particularly in solar, onshore wind, or other renewable energy sectors.
 
  • A detailed understanding of the electricity and renewable energy market, as well as familiarity with the regulatory and policy framework in the Philippines, is essential.
 
  • Possess a strong network within the Philippines, encompassing technical advisors, construction companies, EPC providers, and suppliers, is highly valuable.
 
  • A strong advocates for WHSE compliance and consistently uphold ethical conduct characterized by fairness, honesty, and integrity.
 
  • Demonstrated success in managing large and complex energy infrastructure projects, including the ability to plan, execute, manage risks, and deliver results within tight timeframes and under external pressures.
  • The ability to manage technical and regulatory discussions, collaborate with experts and government agencies, and coordinate input from internal support functions like engineering, procurement, legal, and finance is crucial.
 
  • Effective communication skills, both written and spoken in English, are essential.
 
  • Proficiency in Project Management software suites and MS Office tools (Excel, MS Project, Primavera, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) is expected.
 
  • Willing to spend substantial time in project areas, engage with stakeholders, visit construction sites, and travel extensively within the Philippines and South East Asia as required.
