Senior Legal Counsel
About the job
Our client is an international media company that is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join its Singapore legal team. The Senior Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing legal support to the business across South East Asia.
Responsibilities
Provide legal and strategic advice to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with functional counterparts to manage issues related to data, privacy, employment and other matters
Draft, review, and negotiate agreements with media vendors
Assist on compliance and corporate governance issues and transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and integration
Manage the implementation, use of and enhancement of automated legal solutions within the business
Deliver training for staff of all levels, on topics such as IP, key policies and procedures and contracting
Instruct and oversee external legal counsel as required
Requirements
At least 10 years post qualification experience
Qualified to practice law in a common law jurisdiction
Media experience or technology experience
Experience with IP issues, licensing agreements, privacy and data security issues and compliance
Fluent in English. Excellent drafting skills with an ability to express yourself clearly and concisely in written and oral communications
A good eye for detail, as well as an ability to understand the bigger picture
A problem solver who is able to make practical decisions in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
Well-organized multi-tasker and able to work independently
Experience with managing team members considered favourably
