Job description

Formative Search is working with a climate technology company who are solidly expanding across the APAC region. They are looking for a Smart City Product Director to join their team who can: 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Assess market requirements in order to have a deep understanding of new technologies, customers, and the market 

  • Own and lead Global product strategy for Carbon Management applications 

  • Assess potential product adaptations and include them in international product roadmaps 

  • Responsible of the lifecycle of product and service development  

  • Develop product requirements documents that clearly define the requirements for creating a competitive offering 

  • Develop and schedule ongoing training for direct and indirect customers and ecosystem partners

  • Analysis and clarification of user stories to establish a common understanding of the requirements

  • Define and track success metrics, and continuously adjust based on customer needs and business goals

  • Support Sales and Pre-sales team in the analysis of customer business cases and identify solutions

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver on new product ideas and improve on current ones

  • Establish shared vision across the organization by building consensus on priorities leading to products/functionalities’ execution

  • Compile product communication/training materials for internal and external products 



  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or other related field with strong understanding of software development 

  • Minimum 12 years’ experience as Product Manager and 5 years' experience in the Carbon/Emissions Management or IOT/Industry 4.0 area

  • Experience working in a high-growth self-serve B2B SaaS environment

  • Experience in B2B marketing, especially in serving small and big business as a core customer base

  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle

  • Proven ability to develop product and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management

  • Preference for technical background with hands-on experience in software development and web technologies

  • Excellent written and interpersonal verbal communication skills. Ability to speak Mandarin is a plus
