Solar Operation and Maintenance Engineer
Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage O&M activities at solar sites in Japan, including contractor selection, contract management, and coordination with contractors and client representatives.
Monitor and ensure that O&M contractor performance meets maintenance and performance targets through regular evaluation.
Engage in effective communication with clients, contractors, grid operators, and stakeholders to drive project completion.
Maintain strict compliance with company’s HSE standards at operational sites.
Provide clear and concise communication in Japanese with O&M contractors, customers, utility companies, and personnel, and prepare written and verbal reports in English for the regional office.
Plan and schedule O&M activities across multiple solar sites in Japan while maintaining accurate O&M documentation.
Offer operational insights on solar or ESS to support the technical team and actively track plant KPIs, implementing necessary measures to address any deficiencies.
Submit comprehensive and timely O&M reports to the Regional Office, perform assigned tasks as directed by the reporting line manager, and travel to project sites and related locations as required.
Requirements:
Minimum of 6 years of experience in O&M activities in the solar field.
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
Experience in battery energy storage systems (BESS) operation is a plus point
Ability to travel regularly and as required to various sites in Japan.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
